I<\/span>n the realm of visuality, the concept of the blind spot defines the space of the non-visible. In the process of observing the city, certain views dissolve, thereby revealing elements of construction in both urban space and human perception. As a temporal platform in Skopje, Macedonia, BLIND SPOT SKOPJE presents cinematic and discursive positions of self- and outside perception regarding urban space and its blank spots. The exhibition, theoretical discourses, and a film project, that explores urban spaces in Skopje, condense into a map with known and unknown coordinates interfering with each other and being re-arranged by various artistic strategies.<\/p>\n

Im Feld des Visuellen beschreibt der blinde Fleck einen Ausschnitt des Nicht-Sichtbaren. In der Annahme, die Stadt zu erfassen, bleibt sie als Ganzes nicht greifbar. Auf diese Weise offenbaren sich das Urbane als auch unsere Wahrnehmung als eine Konstruktion. Als tempor\u00e4re Plattform in Skopje\/Mazedonien pr\u00e4sentiert BLIND SPOT SKOPJE filmische und diskursive Positionen der Eigen- und Fremdwahrnehmung urbaner R\u00e4ume und ihrer Leerstellen. Die Ausstellung, theoretische Diskurse zur Thematik und eine filmische Stadterkundung Skopje`s verdichten sich zu einer Karte, in der sich bekannte und unbekannte Koordinaten des Urbanen \u00fcberlagern und durch unterschiedliche k\u00fcnstlerische Strategien neu verkn\u00fcpfen.<\/p>\n
